Investment Associate / Analyst

The candidate will serve as a member of the investment team that invests in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the early growth capital and venture stages. The candidate will play a key role in supporting Investment Managers/Directors with origin source, due diligence, investment and assist the portfolio companies as a part of our Technology and Innovation Fund II.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analysing potential investments at industry and company level.
  • Creating advanced financial models reflecting a variety of scenarios and deal structures.
  • Managing and following up closely on the due diligence process.
  • Writing formal investment recommendations.
  • Following up with Portfolio Companies post-investment.
  • Monitoring investments and industry metrics.
  • Investment reporting to management, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Research and other general support as required from time to time.
  • Support investment team in negotiation and investment execution.
  • Execute various projects as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional networks inside and outside of the GEC network.
  • Coordinate investor reporting and fundraising support.

  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years of relevant working experience. Candidates with CFA or CAIA will be considered favorably.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts and aptitude in financial modelling.
  • Able to strategically understand businesses, concepts, and models.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the expectation to skillfully engage with stakeholders.
  • A proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in corporate finance, equity research, private equity, venture capital, or consulting will be an advantage.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to attempt a simple financial modelling and investment recommendation exercise as part of the interview process.
