Head of Wealth

We are looking for a result driven wealth management and private banking executive with over 15 years of experience and success in building, leading and coaching high performing wealth management sales teams.
The candidate would be responsible for leading of the strategy, development and operations of the Wealth Business with a keen focus on team profitability, operation excellence and prudent risk management in accordance with the Company’s goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
Strategy

  • Develop, grow and evolve the Wealth Management business strategy in alignment with Group Management strategy and direction.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales goals for markets/regions; project expected volume and profit. Responsible for reporting targets and achievements to Group Management.
  • Work with other business verticals to harness the synergies across the Group for the purpose of building the Wealth business into a leading multi-family office regionally.
  • Oversee business model/organisational redesign, process improvements and change management

  • Leadership
  • Responsible for the performance and growth of a team of experienced Wealth Managers, Investment professionals and Nextgen programme candidates.
  • Coach and mentor team members towards achieving their key objectives and providing excellent client relationship management, determine appropriate staffing levels, ensure employee development and maintain a culture of positive employee relations in order to build a high-performing team.
  • Identify and hire top performing Wealth Managers to strengthen the dynamics of the team.

  • Client Management and Business Development
  • Nurturing of long-term client relationships, developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of clients’ investment objectives and risk tolerance to ensure that investment strategies and advice for clients are appropriately aligned.
  • Ensure that the Wealth Managers manage clients’ wealth holistically and their wealth management needs are attended to efficiently, professionally and in a timely manner
  • Oversee the NextGen Club and Foundation and all other new business initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to clients on succession and legacy planning.
  • Proactively identifying potential new clients as part of business development initiatives and achieving new business goals.
  • Establishing credibility and trust while maintaining the highest standards of personal and professional integrity at all times.

  • Execution
  • Work with Group Marketing and Communications teams to develop annual marketing and communications objectives and budget for the Wealth Management unit.
  • Work with Operations and Compliance teams on client requests and address any potential issues.
  • Monitor ongoing progress against the strategic plans by tracking KPIs and milestones
  • Identify and address barriers as they arise (cultural, leadership, resourcing, capabilities).
  • Develop and manage business unit budget.

  • Compliance Risk Management
  • Create a positive tone at the top towards compliance and risk that acts with integrity, understanding and urgency, with ultimate responsibility to safeguard our clients and the company.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of appropriate regulations affecting the industry and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of Private Banking or Multi-Family Office business development and relationship management experience.
  • Proven team management skills with experience in managing a high-performance sales teams with regional geographical focus; good understanding of different client attributes in the region.
  • Excellent strategic vision; understands the direction of the organisation and where the Wealth business fits into the strategic plan; able to articulate vision to motivate and influence others.
  • An ambitious, committed, entrepreneurial nature with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong presentation and excellent communications skills.
  • A strong understanding of the needs and sensitivities of private wealth clients.
  • A proven track record in asset gathering, asset growth and revenue generation performance.
  • Excellent business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial markets analysis and product evaluation.
  • A detail-oriented and results-focused attitude.
  • A strong knowledge of regulatory policies and guidelines.
