Head of Events & Programmes
Reporting to the CEO, the candidate will lead, manage and drive the overall coordination and administration of all aspects of academic programmes/events including planning, organising, leading and controlling both the events and programme activities at SPECTRUM both locally and regionally.
Key responsibilities:
Lead, plan and manage the delivery of the overall events/academic programmes and its activities in accordance with the goals of the organisationEngage working alongside the board in developing and executing a strategic planOversee, manage and develop multi-faceted events at our business club Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organisationSet annual targets and put in place an operational plan to grow and scale the programmes to meet impact and sustainability objectives Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programmesImplement a programme evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the programmes and to identify areas for improvementCommunicate with members and stakeholders to gain community support for the programmes and to solicit input to improve the programmesLiaise with other managers to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of programme deliveryCoordinate the delivery of services among different programme activities to increase effectiveness and efficiencyEnsure that the programme operate within the approved budgetPerform any other duties that may be required from time to time
Requirements:
Degree with at least 8 years of working experience at mid-level in a related discipline Skills in programme development, planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation Strong analytical and conceptualisation skills and the ability to think strategically Experience of working in a diverse team and the ability to build good relationships with people at all levelsDevelop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organisation and to create new opportunitiesWell-developed operational management expertise including; sound financial-management, commercial acumen and good business development skills Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organisational effectiveness.Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organisationAssess situations to determine the importance, urgency and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organisationExcellent organisational, analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead and facilitate team and project planning, coaching and developing individual and team resourcesOverseas travel may be required at a later stage when it is requiredAble to meet and ensure accurate deadlinesAbility to be creative and take the initiativeEffective prioritisation and negotiation skills coupled with the ability and determination to achieve the best possible outcomes Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate viable solutions and make recommendations and or resolve the problems
